I struggle with this whole blogging thing because I try way too hard to stay within some “professional box”.  Do not get me wrong, professional is good and I need to be just that.  What I realized this morning when something hit me like a ton of bricks…. just being me is good enough.  I can be real and professional all at the same time. So, that is just what I will do.

Let’s talk a little about what it is that Terrell Realty Group is built upon.  I have been known as the short sale queen or the repo queen for quite some time now, that used to bother me.  I think mostly because it felt like a derogatory thing coming from other realtors. Like somehow because I am versed in both, that makes me a lower class realtor or something.  As if, I would not be capable of handling a larger more prestigious deal. Which, by the way, is not the case at all. I am a helper/fixer.  When someone comes in to me desperate for help I jump to action.  This world of short sales and repos is a tough one.  It is very time consuming and frustrating to say the very least. So much so, that most realtors do not even want to mess with them.  I actually have realtors from other offices who refer this kind of thing to me, even in other counties, I guess that says something about how far my notoriety has spread! I am one very famous short sale queen! Haha!

Here is the thing.  I do not handle tough cases like that for the money because to be honest, there is not much to be had in that arena.  I do them out of kindness and caring for others. If I can help someone get out of a difficult situation, it is impossible for me to turn my back.  So, what is the issue you may ask?  In doing these things, I do have some sort of stigma placed on me in the public eye.  This idea is crazy to me because being a short sale queen or a repo queen makes me stronger and more educated.  These things are tricky and require tons of creative thinking,  AND that is just what I do.  I think creatively and I make things happen whether I am dealing with a short sale, a repo, a $20,000 house or a $420,000 house.

Sometimes, I get so caught up in the numbers game us realtors play that I lose sight of what matters most to me.  YOU are what matters most to me!!  I am reminded by the super happy and appreciative clients who’ve found their dream home but could not purchase it because of a little credit glitch.  It would have been so easy to walk away and tell myself that I do not have time for the hassle.  BUT, that is not how I operate.  I got creative and I made it happen! They moved in to their home a few weeks ago.  THE JOY! The happiness was enough for me! That is why I do what I do! That is why I go above and beyond on a deal that seems impossible!  It will definitely not make me the richest realtor or the realtor with the highest numbers, but it makes me rich inside.  Those moments give purpose to what I do.

I do not mean to make this blog all about me because I include my whole office in this ideology.  I  have surrounded myself with the most amazing realtors.  Some are veterans with years of experience, and some are young and hungry.  They all hold themselves to the highest level of integrity and I would not accept anything less. They are growing and learning to provide the same caring service because that is what Terrell Realty Group is made of.  If you are looking for realtors who make YOU the priority and who will think outside the box to make your dreams come true, then choose Terrell Realty Group.  You will not be disappointed.

All the best,

Jennie Terrell
